If you have a query regarding you medications or condition and your consultant is based in NHS Lothian you can call the Rheumatology Telephone Advice Line. It will be discussed with another member of the team if required.

How to call:
Please leave a message on the voicemail with your name, date of birth, contact number and brief message
This will be reviewed by one of the Rheumatology Nurse practitioners within 24-48hrs between 8am and 4pm Monday- Friday
Two attempts will be made to return your call
Please note this line is not for emergencies or appointments – If you require urgent attention you should contact your GP or NHS 24 out of hours.
When to call the advice line:
If you are experiencing a flare which has not responded to your usual self-help treatments (see Managing a flare)
If you are experiencing any medication related side-effects
If you are concerned about your blood results
If you require advice on any aspect of your rheumatology medications
If you require holiday/vaccination advice in relation to your rheumatology medications.
